Bama is an Iranian company based in the province of Isfahan, which explores zinc and lead mines. It was incorporated in 1951 with principle activities to explore, extract, process and calcify lead and zinc ores. Its extraction and industrial complex is situated on a 16 sq. km-land southwest of Isfahan. Bama operates three very large mines – Gushfill, which is the deepest mine in Iran, Tappesorkh mine and Kolahdarvaze mine, in addition to four minor ones. The majority of Bama’s production is headed for export to China, Europe and Central Asia. The company boosts a 40,000 tons annual production of lead and zinc sulfide and 60,000 tons of lead and zinc carbonate.
