The Company is engaged in the seaborne transportation industry through the ownership of containerships.
The company is founded to own and operate containerships and pursue containership acquisition opportunities. As on February 23, 2012, our fleet consisted of eight containerships, including three containerships delivered to us in February 2012, with a combined carrying capacity of 32,693 TEU and a weighted average age of 14.2 years. We have also entered into an agreement to acquire one additional vessel that we expect to take delivery of in March 2012.
The Company is a corporation incorporated under the laws of the Republic of the Marshall Islands on January 7, 2010. Each of the Company's vessels is owned by separate whollyowned subsidiaries. Diana Containerships Inc. is the owner of all the issued and outstanding shares of the subsidiaries listed in Exhibit 8.1 to this annual report. We maintain our principal executive offices at Pendelis 18, 175 64 Palaio Faliro, Athens, Greece. Our telephone number at that address is 30 216 600 2400. Unitized Ocean Transport Limited, our Manager, rents our office space from an unrelated third party.
The Company owns and operates containerships. As at February 23, 2012, its fleet consisted of eight containerships, including three containerships delivered to the company, in February 2012, with a combined carrying capacity of 32,693 twenty-foot equivalent units and a weighted average age of 14.2 years. As on December 31, 2011, the company's fleet consisted of five containerships with a combined carrying capacity of 20,486 twenty-foot equivalent units and a weighted average age of 15 years. On February 6, 2012, the company through its wholly owned subsidiaries, Rongerik Shipping Company Inc. and Utirik Shipping Company Inc., purchased from Reederei Santa Containerschiffe GmbH Co. KG two Panamax container vessels, m/v Cap San Marco and m/v Cap San Raphael, respectively. On February 17, 2012, the company through its wholly owned subsidiaries, purchased from APL (Bermuda) Ltd. two Panamax container vessels, the m/v APL Sardonyx and the m/v APL Spinel, respectively.
The company was listed in Frankfurt Stock Exchange on March 10, 2014.
The company has announced that was changed its name to Performance Shipping INC. on february 25 , 2019.
The company will continue to trade on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the ticker “DCIX”.
