The subject is a member of the NSG Group, which is one of the world's largest manufacturers of glass and glazing products architectural, automotive. NSG Group has about 25,000 employees around the world and sales in over 100 countries. In Vietnam, the subject focuses on manufacturing float glass for industry and solar energy glass. Finished products are consumed in both domestic and foreign markets. The subject is operating a glass factory (known as VGI1). VGI1 started manufacturing in May 2008 but it temporarily stopped operation from Mar 2009 to Mar 2010 because of the economic crisis. This factory has stably re-operated since Apr 2010. On 08 Apr 2010, VGI1 expanded to produce glass used for solar batteries. Formerly, besides VGI1, the subject also invested in float glass factory (including 2 lines such as float glass production line used for solar batteries with a capacity of 800 tons/day (VGI2) and UFF ultra-thin, ultra-flat glass production line with a capacity of 300 tons/day (VGI3)). Nevertheless, VGI2 and VGI3 stopped operations afterward for some reasons.According to press information, in 2018, the Prime Minister agreed with a proposal to convert the target of UFF ultra-thin, ultra-flat glass production line with a capacity of 300 tons/day of VGI3 into the production of solar battery glass with a capacity of 500 tons/day. This helps the company to take advantage of available production lines and reduce investment costs. Besides promoting the production activities of 2 lines with a capacity of 500 tons/day, the company is also preparing for production line 3 (with a capacity of 600 tons/day), expected to come into operation by the end of 2025.
