Window

New Europe, constitutes the “window

Since 1993 at the service of independent European
reporting
New Europe is the international newspaper for
Europe with a total circulation of 93,000 copies, in over 60 countries. New
Europe has a clear European stance and it is
particularly influential among
European Union institutions and key decision-makers in European capitals.
The newspaper was first published in
1993 covering the Balkans and rapidly expanded its coverage to all 27
meta-communist countries of Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet
Union.
In 1998, the British weekly The
European terminated publication and New Europe took a step forward
adding Western Europe and a special section on the European Union to its
editorial content, thus establishing itself as the only international newspaper
for Europe. Indeed, New Europe weekly provides a unique overview of
European affairs for the entire continent as it extends from the Atlantic Ocean
to Ural Mountains.
The newspaper provides exclusive
news and news analysis on each and every one of the 48 countries of Europe,
including applicant countries for EU membership information on which is limited
and sporadic in other media.
In 1999, New Europe enlarged
its presence in Brussels and ensured a certified
personalized circulation to over
6,500 European Union top officials in Brussels,
Strasburg and Luxemburg. Total New
Europe circulation in Brussels (including EU and non-EU subscribers,
newsstands and hotels) exceeds 12,000 copies per week.
Since then, New Europe has
gradually developed into the most important newspaper in the decision-making
centers of the European Union and is particularly popular among EU executives
and the diplomatic and business communities of Brussels.
For many European personalities New
Europe constitutes the forum for expressing their opinions and views on
European and international issues. In the past six months only, New Europe has
published several articles and interviews of such personalities
including Members of the European
Commission Loyola de Palacio del Valle-Lersundi, Viviane Reding, Margot
Walstrom, Philippe Busquin, as well as Members of the European Parliament Jacques
Santer, Nicole Fontaine, Elmar Brok, Richard Corbett, Paulo Casaca, Christina
Axelsson, Ewa Hedkvist Peterson, Michael Cashman, Jose Maria Gil- Robles Bashir
Khanbhai, Bertel Haarder, Liz Lynne, Barbara M. O’Toole and several others.
Last but not least, for
meta-communist countries New Europe is the most important
international publication and for
many of them it represents their “window to the
world.”
