Analysts see Mexico's GDP growing only 0.9% in 2019

Analysts polled by Citibanamex lowered their 2019 and 2020 GDP forecast for Mexico, CEEMarketWatch reported. The experts cut its projection for this year by 0.1% to 0.9% expansion in line with the weakening demand components of the local economy.

The analysts also revised down its 2020 forecast by 0.2% to 1.5% growth suggesting that the disapponting pace of Mexico's GDP won't be only a short-term problem.

In this regard, CEEMarketWatch highlighted that the downward revisions of the growth projections for the local economy will continue due to “the unsound economic policy”of Lopez Obrador government which “has damaged investor's confidence” and hindered private demand hike.
