Bangladesh’s exports jump 13.41% y/y in 7-mo FY 2018/19

Bangladesh saw its exports rise by 13.41% on the year to USD 24.18 billion for the first seven months of fiscal year 2018/2019, ending in June, dpa Asian Network News Service reported referring to data provided by the country’s Export Promotion Bureau.

On the other hand, four major sectors, namely leather products, jute goods, home textiles and shrimps, booked a decline over the reported period. For example, exports of leather and leather products dropped by 11.71% on an annual basis to USD 626 million between July 2018 and the first month of 2019.

As for January 2019 alone, Bangladesh’s exports rose by 7.92% on an annual basis to USD 3.68 billion supported by robust growth of garment shipments, dpa Asian Network News Service added.
