Brazil’s automotive output jumps 29.9% y/y in May

Automotive production in Brazil soared 29.9% year-on-year in May to 275.747 units, CEEMarketWatch reported citing figures released by the National Automotive Manufacturer Assocation (Anfavea). This result shows a sharp improvement compared to April when output rose only 0.5% y/y.

Car and light commercial vehicle (LCV) production jumped 28.9% y/y during the month of reference, while truck and bus output surged 51.3% y/y 52.1% y/y, respectively.

Sector’s activity also increased 5.3% y/y to 1.241.155 vehicles in January-May driven by strong demand from Mexico and Colombia, Anfavea announced.
