Brazilian Pulp company Fibria to invest BRL 3.4bn in 2018

Pulp company Fibria has the intention to invest approximately BRL 3.43bn in next year. Among other plans, the investment budget of BRL 570mn is already allocated for the ending of the installation of Horizonte 2 production line in Três Lagoas. The total investments for 2018 receives a significant increase from BRL 2.18bn in 2017.

Guilherme Cavalcanti, company´s director of finances and investor relations, disclosed this figures informing that the costs of maintenance for the new production line as well as the acquisition of wood from third parties demands higher expenditure in 2018, M-Brain has learned.

Exporting for over 40 countries, the Brazilians pulp giants also revised its production forecasts for the Horizonte 2: production for 2017 will pass from an initially 377,000 tonnes to 477,000 tonnes; for 2018 the production prediction is 1.83mn tonnes and, for 2019, Fibria foresees its productive numbers to 1.9mn tonnes. In 2020, Horizonte 2 will reach 1.95mn tonnes capacity
