This is sector’s first growth since 2014
Brazil’s transport sector increased 0.9% year-on-year in 2017, M-Brain News Monitoring reported citing figures released by the local institute of geography and statistics IBGE.
This is sector’s first growth since 2014 and it is mainly driven by the recovery of industrial activity last year and the record grain harvest. This two factors led to increased demand for transport last year.
Sector’s rebound was also underpinned by increased external trade in 2017. Exports of goods and services rose 5.2% last year, while imports grew 5%.
