Brussels Airlines expands presence in India 11/10/2017 | By Aleen Joy Jarasa, EMIS Editor

The airline has reopened the non-stop Mumbai-Brussels route

Brussels Airlines is “approaching profitability” as it continues to expand its operations in India by reopening the flight route which has been closed down by Jet Airways, Business Line has reported, quoting company CEO Bernard Gustin.

The flights are commercially viable with an average seat load factor of approximately 80%. Furthermore, a Delhi-Brussels flight connection is also being considered because of its attractive market, Business Line noted referring to Gustin’s comment.

More than 60,000 passengers, with 70% going further to destinations in Europe, North America and Africa, have travelled between the two points in seven months since the route has been launched, Gustin told Business Line.
