China’s investments in FinTech jump 9 times y/y in 2018

China's investments in the financial technology (FinTech) sector booked a ninefold increase on an annual basis to USD 25.5 billion for 2018, Shanghai Daily reported referring to data released by consulting and outsourcing services provider Accenture.

Thus, the Asian country’s investments in the industry accounted for almost half the global total. The global investment amount for last year more than doubled on an annual basis to USD 55.3 billion.

According to Albert Chan, financial services practice lead at Accenture China, many investors have understood that the FinTech sector could add a lot of benefits to businesses and consumers alike.
