China and US agree to halt additional trade tariffs

China and the US have agreed to not impose additional trade tariffs following a “very successful” dialogue between Chinese President Xi Jinping and US President Donald Trump after the 13th G20 Summit in Argentina, Shanghai Daily has reported. Both countries are said to have decided to manage differences and expand cooperation based on mutual benefit.

During the meeting, Xi noted that cooperation is the best option between the two superpower nations, highlighting the importance of the sound China-US relations in the global arena due to their responsibilities in promoting peace and prosperity. Meanwhile, Trump announced the US’ willingness to increase cooperation through consultations, supporting Xi’s evaluation of the countries’ bilateral ties.
