Coca-Cola to invest $ 780mn in Brazil in 2019

Coca-Cola plans to invest USD 781.78mn (BRL 3bn) in Brazil this year, M-Brain News Monitoring reported. The drinks company will finance mainly long-term projects related to returnable and recyclable packaging. Coca-Cola already invested BRL 100mn in its universal returnable PET bottle.

Group’s sales in Brazil increased 1% in volume and 3% in units in 2018 despite the local market decreased 21% in volume over the last 5 years, according to figures released by Euromonitor International. Last year company’s sugar-free Coca-Cola saw a 9% increase in volume, while non-fizz drinks rose 11.5% in volume.
