Digicel to invest $389mn in Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago

Jamaican telecom Digicel will invest $389 million in Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago to set fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) infrastructure and launch pay-TV and fixed broadband services, according to media reports.

It will invest $305 million in Trinidad and Tobago and $84 million in Barbados.

The mobile operator offers pay-TV and broadband operations in eight Caribbean markets. It is also present in Central America and Asia Pacific.

The company has some 6,000 people and so far has invested more than $5 billion worldwide.
