Dutch company to set up a solar panel plant in India

The Netherlands based-Hyet Solar will invest 200 million euros to set up a plant in Assam with the goal of generating 200 MW of solar power, The Economic Times has reported, quoting Netherlands Ambassador to India Alphonsus Stoelinga. The venture comes following the BJP-led government’s scouting of foreign investors.

Aside from the solar power venture, the Netherlands has offered to work with the Assam government in water management and in controlling flood and erosion in river Brahmaputra, a government source told The Economic Times. Food processing and cold storage management for agricultural products of the state is also named as a key area in need of Dutch involvement.
