FDI in Peru soars 108.4% y/y in Q2
Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Peru surged 108.4% year-on-year to USD 3.094bn in the second quarter of 2019, Andina news agency reported citing figures released by the Central Reserve Bank (BCR).
The local energy sector attracted the most of the total inflow – USD 1.484bn, while non-financial services, mining and manufacturing received USD 607mn, USD 328mn and USD 316mn, respectively.
Moreover, the BCR also revealed that the foreign portfolio investments soared 633.3% y/y to USD 660mn in the second quarter of 2019.
The strong result during the period of reference helped FDI in the country to jump 31.2% y/y to USD 5.503bn in H1, recovering from the weak figures posted in Q1, when foreign capitals inflow fell 11% y/y.Original source: Andina news agency
