India and UAE to sign MoU for development projects

India and UAE are set to sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) focused on setting up projects in third countries, Times of India has reported. The two nations will set up an IT excellence centre in Ethiopia as first project.

“The MoU on development cooperation in Africa being signed between India and UAE will be a significant outcome since it will be a first of its kind in South-South Government to Government bilateral cooperation,” Times of India has quoted an official. The agreement will be India’s second third country project, with its Japan collaboration over a hospital in Kenya as its first.

Furthermore, Delhi and Abu Dhabi are also in discussion to set up second strategic oil reserve in India with UAE's support, Times of India has added.
