Malaysia’s economy expected to perform better in Q2 2018

Malaysia’s economy is seen to perform better in the second quarter of 2018 as a result of strong domestic sector, solid labour market and better wage growth, Business Times has reported citing comments from the country's top economists.

"Private consumption is expected to remain strong, driven by the solid labour market and positive wage growth, while the external sector will remain resilient despite heightened trade tension," Business Times has quoted a statement from AmBank Group. Moreover, the country's second quarter gross domestic product is seen to increase as well as industrial production and manufacturing sales see continuous growth.
