Mexico's trade surplus with the USA soars 30.7% y/y in Jan-August

Mexico's trade surplus with the United States jumped 30.7% year-on-year to USD 67.26bn during the first eight months of 2019, M-Brain News Monitoring reported citing figures released by the US Census Bureau. Mexican exports to its neighbour country rose 5.5% y/y to USD 240.73bn during the period, while imports fell to USD 173.47bn. 

Bilateral trade between both countries increased 2.2% y/y to USD 441.20bn in January-August.As a result, Mexico consolidated as US main trade partner in August for eight month in a row with 15% of the US foreign trade.
