Moody’s sees Colombian economy improving sharply in next two years

Moody’s forecasted that the Colombian economy will continue to improve in the next two years, CEEMarketWatch reported. In this regard, the rating agency raised its 2019 GDP projection by 0.3% to 3.3%. This upward revision is mainly motivated by recovering private demand which, according to the credit rater, will boost private investment and consumption.

Moody’s said that Colombia’s economy acceleration is credit positive. On the other hand, however, it warned that several industries continue to pose serious risks, especially banking and insurance. CEEMarketWatch also pointed out that the country could suffer the negative impact of the possible deceleration of global demand.
