Moody’s sees Mexico growing 1.2% in 2019

Moody’s decided to keep its 2019 GDP forecast for Mexico unchanged at 1.2%, CEEMarketWatch reported citing the local news agency Notimex. It is positive that the credit rater hold its projection 1% above market consensus for second consecutive month.

On the other hand, however, CEEMarketWatch warned that Moody’s might lower its forecast in case of disappointing performance of the local economy in the second quarter of the year.

Moreover, this forecast stands well below IMF’s estimates of 1.6% growth and WB’s expectation of 1.7% growth in 2019. Most analysts expect both institutions to cut its projections soon.
