More young Taiwanese jobseekers look for work in Southeast Asia and India

The number of young Taiwanese people seeking employment in Southeast Asia and India continues to increase due to higher salaries and chances of a quick promotion, Taiwan News has reported.

This trend in Taiwan’s employment sector is the result of high availability of new jobs with competitive salary and lower living expenses abroad. Furthermore, booming economic trend in the region has also made Southeast Asia attractive to Taiwanese nationals.

Figures revealed that the number of young Taiwanese between ages 25 and 29 travelling to Southeast Asia for work has increased by 62% over the past three years while the number of people applying for vacancies in the region rose by 33% in 2017, Taiwan News has noted referring to data from an online job bank.
