Net FDI in Colombia jumps 22.5% y/y to $ 3.36bn in January-April

Net Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Colombia soared 22.5% year-on-year to USD 3.36bn in January-April, M-Brain News Monitoring reported citing figures released by the local central bank Banco de Colombia.

In April alone, FDI jumped 22.3% y/u to USD 1.11bn, its strongest monthly result since December 2017. This positive result was mainly driven by the oil and hydrocarbons sector which attracted USD 846mn during the month of reference.

This sector also received USD 2.70bn in the first four months of 2019, up 30% compared to the same period last year.
