Nigeria, Morocco ink gas pipeline deal

Nigeria and Morocco have signed a series of co-operation agreement deal, including one for a regional gas pipeline, Vanguard Daily reported. Thanks to the facility, Nigeria will be able to provide gas to countries in the West Africa sub-region, Morocco and Europe.

The feasibility study on the pipeline is expected to be concluded by July this year and its construction could be phased based on needs of countries over the next 25 years. The move is in line with the two countries’ ambition to boost their economic ties in gas resource development as well as to encourage the region’s diversification of energy resources.

Also, the two partners also inked a deal for the development of a chemical plant in Nigeria aimed at the production of ammonia and its derivatives, Vanguard Daily added.
