Pepsi to invest $4bn in Mexico in 2019-2020

PepsiCo and its strategic partner Grupo Gepp will invest USD 4bn in Mexico between 2019 and 2020, local daily El Financiero reported citing a statement of the multinational company. This investment project is expected to create 3000 new jobs in the country.

Some USD 109mn of the total amount will go toward a new plant in the Mexican state of Guanajuato, which should be operating at full capacity by 2025, Pepsi announced. This will be the company's first new plant in the country since 1999.

With this investment, PepsiCO reinforces its commitment with Mexico which is the company's largest operation in Latin America and the second worldwide.
