Peru´s GDP expected to grow above 4% in 2019: Govt

Peru’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) may grow above 4% this year, Economy and Finance Minister Carlos Oliva forecasted quoted by Andina news agency.

The official affirmed that the political crisis in the country didn’t have any impact on the local economy. "Once we are capable of taking measures against corruption, and the Executive's (Branch) proposals to Congress start moving forward, we are convinced they will have a very positive impact on the country's institutionalism," Oliva said.

He also said that the government agrees with central bank’s (BCR) projections about country’s growth in November and December. According to BCR’s estimations, Peruvian GDP may have expanded 5.6% in November and 5.1% in December.
