Peru’s c-bank sees local economy accelerating in Q4

Peru’s Central Reserve Bank (BCR) forecasted that the local economy would accelerate in the fourth quarter of 2018 compared to the previous one, Andina news agency reported.

"For that reason, the Central Bank maintains its 4% expansion projection for 2018," BCR Economic Studies Department Manager Jorge Estrella said. He explained that country’s GDP in Q4 will be mainly driven by the recovery of the primary sectors.

In this regard, Estrella expects the mining segment to record a higher production during the last three months of the year thanks to projects like Antamina, Quellaveco and Mina Justa.
