Peru’s economic activity rises 5.3% y/y in November

Peru’s economic activity expanded by 5.3% year-on-year in November, Andina news agency reported citing figures released by the latest FocusEconomics’ LatinFocus Consensus Forecast report. This hike shows significant improvement compared with October’s 4.2% growth.

The expansion of the local economy during the month of reference was mainly driven by the strong performance of the retail and agricultural sectors. The construction sector also posted growth boosted by higher investment in public infrastructure.

Overall, Peru’s economic activity increased by 3.8% y/y between January and November 2018 on the back of solid consumer spending and strong non-traditional exports, FocusEconomics report revealed.
