Peruvian exports hit record high of $ 49bn in 2018

Peru’s exports rose by 8.1% in 2018 to a record high of USD 48.94bn, M-Brain News Monitoring reported citing figures released by the local central bank.

Country’s traditional and non-traditional shipments improved by 6.3% and 13%, respectively, last year while other exports jumped by 44.4%. China and the USA were the main destinations for Peruvian exports in 2018. Copper, zinc and gold were the most exported products to these two countries.

On the other hand, the country’s imports stood at USD 41.89bn last year, which represents 8.2% growth compared to 2017. As a result, Peru’s trade balance reached USD 7.04bn in 2018, its highest result in seven years.
