Poland’s construction output drops 0.7% y/y in June

Poland’s construction output fell by 0.7% on an annual basis for June 2019 from a 9.6% rise in May, CEEMarketWatch reported referring to data provided by the Central Statistical Office (GUS). On a monthly basis, it grew by 9.3%.

The production decline was attributed to the two fewer working days in comparison to a year before as well as a heatwave in June which hit seasonal and other such work. Year-to-date, construction rose by 6.6% on the year, still down from 9.3% growth in May.

In detail, the output of specialised construction activity dropped by 0.6% on the year while this of civil engineering work remained flat, compared with an 8.8% rise in May, CEEMarketWatch added.
