Poland’s vehicle registrations rise 21% y/y in Sept 2019

Poland‘s passenger car and light commercial vehicle (LCV) registrations went up by 21% on an annual basis to 39,491 units for September 2019, CEEMarketWatch reported referring to data provided by car market monitoring company Samar. On a monthly basis, they dropped by 27.2%.

Regarding the whole period between January and September, registrations rose by 2.2% year-on-year to 461,892 units. Over the nine-month period, passenger car registrations rose by 1.8% and LCV registrations went up by 5.1% on the year.

Samar underlined that the recovery booked last month was mainly a result of the weak sales in September 2018 which were low due to an introduction of restrictive emission rules. Yet, despite the good economy and the rising consumer income, companies still account for the lion's share of new car purchases, CEEMarketWatch noted.
