Romania’s unemployment rate at its lowest for the past 26 years

Romania has recorded the same level of unemployment, 3.48%, for the second consecutive month, Agerpres reported, referring to data from National Agency for Employment (ANOFM). The unemployment rate recorded at the end of June in the country is the lowest value of the unemployment rate in the last 26 years.

The improvement in the indicator to some extent is due to the fact that summer months are influenced by the increase in the number of persons employed for a specified period in sectors of the economy with seasonal activity, such as construction, agriculture or services, Agerpres added.

The total number of the unemployed at the end of June constituted 304,361 and compared to the previous year, the unemployment rate decreased by 0.69%.
