Rosatom to open subsidiary in Saudi Arabia

Russian state-run nuclear giant Rosatom will open a subsidiary in Saudi Arabia's capital Riyadh, ITAR-TASS reported referring to a company statement.

The unit will represent the group’s branch Rusatom Overseas, which is responsible for promoting the construction of Russian-built nuclear power plants (NPPs) and centres of nuclear science and technologies all over the world.

Rusatom Overseas puts a special emphasis on the work with Saudi industrial enterprises and academic institutions, its CEO Evgeny Pakermanov commented. According to him, the company sees a huge potential in the facilities’ involvement in the implementation of the Gulf Kingdom’s nuclear energy programme, ITAR-TASS noted.
