Sales of residential properties in Turkey slip 5.3% y/y in March

Sales of residential properties in Turkey went down by 5.3% year-on-year to 105,046 units for March 2019, Hurriyet Daily News reported referring to data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute.

Not surprisingly, Istanbul was the city with the highest share of purchased properties. It was the most popular venue for foreign buyers as well, joined by a Mediterranean holiday resort city of Antalya, and the capital Ankara.

Over last month, sales to foreigners jumped by 71.3% on an annual basis to 3,129 units. The largest number of houses were bought by Iraqis, followed by Iranians, Saudis, Russians, and Afghans, Hurriyet Daily News added.
