Shipping Out: Giurgiulesti Port, Moldova

Moldova’s port, which sits on the bank of the Danube River, has enjoyed an increase over the last year in the number of containers passing through. Danube Logistics (general investor and operator) signed an investment agreement with the Moldovan government at the end of 2014.

Thomas Moser, Chairman of the Danube Logistics Administrative Council, said "We are satisfied with the considerable growth in number of containers, exported through the Giurgiulesti port to external markets. Currently, the export of Moldovan goods is conducted to more than 40 countries of the world".

More than 330 different ships have used the services of the port over the previous year with transportation being conducted on 13 major sea container lines. See the infographic for more information on the ports success.
