Trade between Kazakhstan and Malaysia increases almost fourfold in 2018

Trade volume between Kazakhstan and Malaysia increased almost fourfold compared with 2017 and amounted to USD478 million in 2018, Trend reported, referring to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan’s data.

The two countries cooperate actively in the fields of Islamic finance, housing and infrastructure construction, agriculture, halal industry, e-commerce, tourism, cyber security and most important - in the fields of oil and gas industry and oil and gas services. In the oil and gas, agricultural and construction sectors alone Kazakhstan, alongside Malaysian companies and investors, implement long-term projects for a total amount of over USD1 billion, Trend added.

In 2018 exports from Kazakhstan reached USD351.7 million, while imports from Malaysia reached USD126.1 million.
