Trump’s decision on Jerusalem to put US business in region at risk

US President Donald Trump’s controversial decision to recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel and to move the US embassy to the city from Tel Aviv may put at risk the US business in the region, AMEInfo reported.

His position has already drawn an angry response from global and regional leaders who voiced their concerns that the recognition might destroy the fragile peace process in the region.

Apart from the political downside, Trump’s decision may significantly hurt Washington’s relations with its top business partners in the Muslim world, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Turkey and Indonesia.

For example, US trade with the UAE for the first 11 months of 2016 accounted for USD 23.3 billion and with Saudi Arabia – USD 31 billion, AMEInfo underlined.
