Turkey’s inflation rate slows down to 15.7% in June

Turkey's inflation rate slowed down for a third consecutive month to 15.7% for June 2019, dpa INS English reported referring to data provided by the country’s statistical bureau TurkStat. In comparison, in May, inflation stood at 18.7%.

Inflation’s increase on a monthly basis was 0.03%. In the meantime, Turkish lira slightly recovered to 5.63 against the US dollar, official data showed.

In terms of segments, the highest inflation increase on an annual basis for June was registered by the services sector, or 26.8%. Food inflation, on the other hand, slowed down to 19.2%, dpa INS English underlined.
