Turkey, Vietnam to boost economic ties

Turkey and Vietnam aim to boost their bilateral economic ties, Intellasia.net reported referring to a statement made by the Turkish minister of science, industry and technology, Faruk Ozlu.

During a recent meeting with Vietnamese officials, Turkey’s side urged the Vietnamese government to continue supporting Turkish investors in Vietnam and noted that Vietnamese firms were welcome to invest in 18 free economic zones in Turkey.

Ankara is Vietnam's leading trade partner in the Middle East and is a gateway for various Vietnamese products such as rice, tea, garment and electronics. The two countries aim to raise their bilateral trade to USD 4 billion in 2020 from about USD 2 billion in 2016, Intellasia.Net noted.
