Turkish brands to run about 5,000 shops abroad in H2 2019
Turkish brands will run about 5,000 shops abroad in the second half of 2019, Hurriyet Daily News reported referring to the head of the United Brands Association (BMD), Sinan Oncel. Currently, Turkish brands have 4,396 shops in 125 countries.
The rapid growth is expected as Turkish brands continue to open an average of two new shops abroad every day. In three years, the count of stores is expected to double.
The increase is explained with the interest in foreign markets due to high costs and saturation on the domestic market. The main destination for Turkish brands is Russia, followed by Kazakhstan, and Saudi Arabia, Hurriyet Daily News added.
