Vietnam’s agriculture sector expands 2% y/y in 9-mo 2019
Vietnam’s agriculture sector expanded by 2.02% on an annual basis for the first nine months of 2019, Vian Industry News reported referring to the country’s deputy minister of agriculture and rural development Phung Duc Tien. The official underlined that the good result was booked despite the African swine fever.
In detail, the sector’s export revenue over the reported period stood at USD 30.02 billion. Trade surplus reached USD 6.86 billion, which was by nearly USD 1 billion higher than the same period in 2018.
Although pork output went down by 8% due to the impact of the disease, the output of other farming products such as beef, buffalo and poultry meat, eggs, and milk went up, Vian Industry News underlined.Original source: Vian Industry News
