Vietnam’s digital economy to reach USD 30bn in 2025
Vietnam's digital economy is expected to reach USD 30 billion by 2025, Vian Macroeconomic News reported referring to data provided by Open Gov Asia. In comparison, back in 2018, it was valued at USD 9 billion.
Open Gov Asia estimated that Vietnam's digital economy was growing rapidly and was making important contributions to the country's economy. For example, there has been a recent boom of e-commerce as well as an establishment of new business models.
However, the sector’s boost has also brought some challenges for Hanoi, especially in the field of cyber security, and competitive pressure in the integration process. Furthermore, Vietnam should create favourable legal corridors appropriate for the sector and upgrade its digital infrastructure, Vian Macroeconomic News added.Original source: Vian Macroeconomic News
