Vietnam’s FDI in Jan-Aug 2019 reach USD 22.63bn
Vietnam’s foreign direct investments (FDIs) between January and August 2019 stood at USD 22.63 billion, equivalent to 92.9% of the amount booked a year earlier, Thai Economic News Service reported referring to data released by the Foreign Investment Agency (FIA).
In detail, some USD 9.13 billion of the investment went to a total of 2,406 new projects. About USD 4 billion went to 908 existing projects. Also, over the reported period, there were no projects with big additional capital in comparison to January-August 2018.
For the first eight months of 2019, a total of 103 countries and territories invested in Vietnam. The leader in FDI was Hong Kong with the sum of USD 5.63 billion. Second was the Republic of Korea and third was Singapore, Thai Economic News Service noted.Original source: Thai Economic News Service
