Dubai Financial Market was established as a public institution having its own independent corporate body by a Resolution from the Ministry of Economy No 14 of 2000. DFM is operating as a secondary stock exchange for securities issued by shareholding companies, local government and bodies inside the UAE. In December 2006, DFM was transformed to a public shareholding company. The Company acquired all the assets, liabilities and operations of Dubai Financial Market from the Government of Dubai. In addition to operating the Dubai Stock Exchange. The main activities of the market: Trading in financial instruments, acting as commercial, industrial and agricultural holding and trust company, financial investment consultancy, and local and foreign shares and bonds brokerage.
