For half a century both companies had developed their business competing in different markets to subsequently reunite their forces and create DAPSA in 1973. It was born as a solid and efficient oil company to respond to the requirements of a market which had become more demanding. DAPSA became the manufacturer of specialties and services for the oil business. At the distillery located in Lomas de Zamora, light crude oil was distillated in order to produce solvents and paint thinners of high quality. DAPSA has maintained a lead position in that area throughout its history. On the other hand, middle distillates were turned into narrow cuts for the production of herbicides and insecticides as well as light oils to be used as agrochemicals or lubricants in industrial processes.
