It was established in November 1992 through an international public tender for the production of derivatives of crude oil and natural gas. They deliver their products throughout the region, with the aim of being among the best in northern Argentina. The refinery is located in Campo Durán, province of Salta, where crude oil and natural gas are produced from the Northwest Basin and Bolivia through two oil pipelines and one gas pipeline. In this way, Campo Durán became the nerve center of oil pipelines in Latin America and was the most important channel for the distribution of all the liquids generated in the Northwest Basin of the Argentine Republic.
