Bulgarian real estate company Domestic Diplomatic Properties Agency Ltd. (ADIS) is a limited state-owned partnership, which specialises in the field of real estate brokerage, property management and leasing properties for residential and office use. The agency possesses and manages real estate with gross external area of about 116,000 square metres. In early 2003, the company was slated for privatisation but the sell-off procedure was suspended in October 2003. The privatisation was cancelled due to the fact that the bidder with the best price offer, Italian textile company Gruppo Miroglio, failed to meet the requirements set in the tender documentation. Other bidders for a 100% stake in ADIS included Czech Property Investments, American Realty Investors and Israeli diversified company BSP Europe. All of the bids were within the EUR 40-50 million range.
Bulgarian sell-off authorities decided in mid-2004 to delay the new tender procedure for ADIS until EU entry in 2007 due to the steadily rising prices on the real estate market in the capital Sofia and the company is still state-owned.
