Leaf tobacco dealer Alliance One Tobacco Bulgaria is a successor of local company Bulmon, which was established in 1990. It is engaged in buying, processing and export of oriental leaf tobacco.
Bulmon was active in purchasing and processing of tobacco and operated a vast storage network. In 1997, the company was merged with the local arm of leaf tobacco dealer DIMON Incorporated. By 2002, DIMON Bulgaria operated three processing facilities in southern Bulgaria. In October 2005, the firm was renamed to Alliance One Tobacco Bulgaria following the the merger of DIMON Incorporated with Standard Commercial Corporation into Alliance One International, Inc.
