BauMax Bulgaria OOD was established in 2004 by Austrian DIY chain bauMax. In April 2008, it opened its first hypermarket in Plovdiv and in mid-2009, bauMax Bulgaria opened its do-it-yourself store in Sofia. Currently, the company operates 8 hypermarkets on the territory of the country. It offers a wide assortment of home improvement and do-it-yourself goods in the following categories - construction, machinery, interior, garden. In 2014, Bulgarian company Hedus AD acquired all bauMax stores in Bulgaria and the chain was rebranded to HomeMax.
