JetFinance International was established in November 2001 and is one of the leading consumer credit companies in Bulgaria. JetFinance offers three main types of products - loans for various low-ticket goods, small cash loans and standard consumer loans.
In June 2004, AIG New Europe Fund, managed by U.S. private equity fund AIG Capital Partners, acquired a 51% stake in JetFinance for EUR 3.7 million via a capital hike.
The remainder of the equity was owned by Luxembourg-based Quintus Investment.
In 2006 JetFinance International placed a EUR 75 million, three-year bond issue that was listed on the London Stock Exchange. The company, which extended credits for almost EUR 68 million during the first half of 2007, has a portfolio of around 500,000 clients.
In November 2007, France's biggest listed bank BNP Paribas, announced it had finalised the acquisition of the Bulgarian consumer credit company. The acquisition was carried out via Cetelem, a BNP Paribas company that is a leader in the consumer credit market in continental Europe.
In May 2008 the company's name was changed to BNP Pariba Personal Finance.
Currently, the company runs 31 offices throughout the country.
